Vale de Figueira is a small Beira village half sunk in the valley among pine forests. There the people cultivate cereals (rye), vegetables and old berries. The Churchof our Mother, which was dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Apresentação, has modest architecture (dating back to the end of the seventeenth century), and carved with altarpieces from the beginning of the nineteenth century.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is also the Centenários Market Cross. In the fountain of Santa Maria, we can see women talking by the end of the afternoon. In another old drinking fountain, which leads to a path (Rua Nova) is sculptured the grimace of a man.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 It is worthwhile visiting the Alto da Escrita belvedere, where for a long time, a menhir statue stands - a beautiful anthropomorphic sculpture.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We come in touch with the Beira Region, full of genista, pine wood and carved rocks. An Almanac little Chapel in the hillock and peacefulness of this Biblical village.
